How to Preserve Your Cigars

The Tobacco Process

How to Preserve Your Cigars

Tobacco is a highly hygroscopic product, which means that it easily attracts moisture from the atmosphere. Under excess humidity it will spoil more quickly, which is why it is so important that cigars remain under the right temperature and humidity conditions. Temperature must be between 65º F and 69º F and humidity between 65% and 70%. Optimally, cigars should be preserved in a humidor, a wooden box preferably made out of cedar that maintains stable conditions of humidity and temperature.
