Flavor

The Tobacco Process

Flavor

Flavor is the most important aspect of any cigar. Sometimes taste depends on external factors, for example, if you are drinking coffee or whisky with your cigar. After inhaling, the puff has to be kept it in your mouth for a few seconds. Then roll it around, smack your tongue against the roof of your mouth, and remember that you sense the cigar’s flavor at the end of your tongue. With large format cigars different flavors are more easily detected: sweet, salty, acid or sour. The flavor always has to be judged by the end of the first third of the cigar, when the “chimney” is totally hot; that is when the cigar has reached its optimal flavor.
